Chris Owen

 Chris Owen Artist Statement:
"An _expression of energy and gesture are important factors in my work, and in portraying the contemporary western themes, I believe the painterly approach produces a more spontaneous and subjective presentation."

Chris majored in art at Montana State University and studied at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Along with the Western Visions Miniature Show (9/15/06) at the National Wildlife Museum in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, he has participated in the C.M. Russell Auction, the Coors Western Art Exhibit where he was selected the 2003 featured artist, and is included in the permanent collection of The National Western, Denver, CO. He also participated in the Cheyenne Frontier Days Governorís Invitational Western Art Show where he received the 2005 Museum Purchase Award and was selected 2001 print artist, and at the Rising Stars Western Art Show. His work is part of the permanent collection at the Pearce Western Art Museum in Corsicana, TX.
